As more families want to live in more rural areas, but still need great links into the city, creating homes that suit their lifestyles is essential. Stagfield Group appointed AJA to design a high quality new development in the very popular Nottinghamshire town of Southwell, which has an ever growing demand for homes because of its fantastic amenities, strong community and wealth of history.
The finished site has 38 homes, with 6 different house types ranging from 1-4 bedrooms, to provide homes for a variety of buyers. These high quality homes have parking, gardens, solar ready roofs and are also electric car charging ready so that they are able to meet the demands of local residents for years to come. Due to the location of the site, reflecting the local architecture of the area was extremely important. Through careful consultation with local planners, we were able to create traditional style homes which are in keeping with the local area, whilst creating homes that work for modern living.

Community is an extremely important part of Southwell life and the masterplan for the site encouraged this, with many of the homes orbiting a central grassed area. This also creates a safe place for children to play in view of their homes.
