At Allan Joyce Architects, we don’t just design sustainable buildings, we actively choose to work in a sustainable way so that our business reflects our shared values and those of our clients. Our hope is that by working in this way, we can leave the world in a better way than we found it. As a team we want our business to be environmentally and socially sustainable so we continually assess our performance and come up with new ways to improve how we work.

The AJA Way is about more than design. It's about people, partnership and possibility.
For over 40 years, we've combined experience with curiosity, creating an approachable and collaborative environment where clients can explore ideas with confidence. We take the time to understand ambitions, challenge assumptions and uncover opportunities, helping every project reach its full potential.

We were founded in 1981 by Allan Joyce and were based in shared space on Bridlesmith Gate – back then we were a small team but we had big ideas. As we grew, in 1987 Allan bought and renovated our current office, the old Midland Bank building on Bath Street and the whole team moved in. (If you pop in, we still have the old vaults that we can show you!) Since then, we've become a Limited Company and an RIBA Chartered Practice, as well as continuing to grow to a team of 19. Toby and Tricia are now our Directors and together they have strengthened the business with their vision, whilst maintaining The AJA Way, always.
Over the years we have worked on so many incredible projects and have won a variety of awards which the whole team are immensely proud of.
