Following the successful delivery of the earlier phases of Cotgrave Town Centre's regeneration, Allan Joyce Architects worked with Rushcliffe Borough Council to deliver the final phase of the transformation: a new row of contemporary retail units designed to strengthen the town centre and support its long-term economic vitality.
The project forms part of a wider regeneration programme that has revitalised Cotgrave's centre through new community facilities, improved public spaces and enhanced commercial opportunities, helping to create a vibrant destination for residents, businesses and visitors.
The development provides four modern retail units, including a larger unit designed to accommodate a café or restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking the town centre.
This mix of commercial space encourages a diverse range of businesses while creating opportunities for people to meet, socialise and spend more time in the town centre, increasing activity throughout the day.
The single-storey building reflects the architectural language established during the earlier regeneration phases, creating a cohesive identity across the town centre while introducing a contemporary character.
The sloping nature of the site has been used to create an elevated terrace for outdoor dining, transforming a challenging level change into an attractive public space.
The scheme also delivers wider public benefits through improved pedestrian links across the town centre and a reconfigured parking layout that increases capacity and improves accessibility.
Working closely with Rushcliffe Borough Council, Allan Joyce Architects helped deliver the final stage of a major town centre regeneration programme that supports local businesses, encourages investment and creates a more welcoming environment for the community.
