The remaining structure of the Grade II listed pigeoncote at Belton represents a significant part of the model village used to support the Belton Estate. Temporarily stabilised with scaffolding and corrugated roofing, the pigeoncote was at risk of being lost. A Management Plan was prepared for submission to Natural England to apply for part funding from the Higher Level Stewardship scheme to repair the structure and remove it from the Heritage at Risk Register.
The works were split into two phases and included producing a record of the historical development, Statement of Significance and Listed Building Consent, alongside full specification for the preservation work and management of the project on site through to completion.

The result of these works has safeguarded this heritage asset from further deterioration and has provided an opportunity for visitors to Belton to appreciate the pigeoncote and its value within the estate.
