This project is part of Longhurst Group’s overall strategy to re-organise their commercial property portfolio, consolidating the best accommodation and creating more flexible and better working environments for their employees. Following the successful refurbishment completion of their Nottingham NG2 offices, they approached us to look at options for how the space vacated by long term tenants at Lincoln could best be used in the future.
We carefully assessed the existing structure of the grade II building to complete an options appraisal in which we were able to show that some of the space on the upper floors could be repurposed to create eight affordable apartments as well as how the ground floor space being redesigned as office space with a modern and stylish aesthetic. Consultations with Lincoln City Conservation team were very positive, they admired the sensitive approach and welcomed the positive improvements to the street frontage.
Wellbeing of staff and creating a positive environment is at the forefront of the design and so WELL-standards were considered throughout. To this end, and in order to make improvements to the front elevation, designs included larger areas of glazing, rationalising points of access, creating a better street presence and to allow much more natural daylight deeper into the ground storey. The office space designs incorporate quiet areas, breakout and social spaces. The finishes incorporate natural materials and biophilia to improve air quality and general occupant wellbeing.

To help our clients visualise the proposed design, we created a selection of 3D visualisations to show how the finished space would look.
