Josh realised he wanted to pursue a career in architecture at primary school age when his teachers and parents told him he'd ‘make a good architect’! This reaction came after seeing him draw cityscapes in his exercise books rather than doing the assigned work and constructing elaborate Lego creations at home. He has since pursued his passion for architecture by studying for his BArch at Nottingham Trent University, as well as joining AJA to gain valuable experience of working in industry.Josh said was very difficult to choose just one building as his favourite. Buildings which nestle themselves in secluded environments like Haysom Ward Millars Lochside house are a favourite because the use of materiality and form to reflect its context in the Scottish wilderness is extremely poetic. For him, this is the most important thing a building can do, create a connection between the external and the internal.When he’s not busy studying and working, Josh’s main pastime is music and film. He collects a lot of vinyl records and tries to keep up to date with the film world. Aside from this, he’s a keen photographer when the weather and time to travel permits!
