Francesco joined the team as an Architect in 2022, after working in Portugal with Alvaro Siza, as well as in Italy and London, where he worked on a wide variety of projects including residential, sports and commercial.

He realised his love of architecture during high school, when he went to London for a holiday and saw the Shard. It was the first time he had ever seen a skyscraper and was so impressed by it that he decided he wanted to be able to design buildings too. As he was already studying at a technical high school for surveying, he decided to continue in that field and study architecture. He went on to study at the University of Sassari and Universidade do Minho.

When asked, he couldn’t pick one building as his favourite but did narrow it down to two: ‘House’ by Alvaro Siza in Mallorca and Ktima House by Camilo Rebelo. These are both architecturally important buildings for Francesco as they both show interesting integration of architecture inside a natural environment and topography, keeping the relationship with the surrounding despite the minimal masses.

For Francesco, what drives all of his projects is the satisfaction of the client when the job is complete. He loves knowing he has created a building of the highest quality, which has a strong relationship with its surroundings, an inspired use of materials, excellent sustainability credentials and which makes the most of natural light.

When he’s not in the studio, Francesco has a passion for cooking and travel and also a love of electronic music.
