A new community facility in Ashbourne has officially reached completion, with the Link Centre at Ashbourne Methodist Church now handed over ahead of welcoming its first guests and events this weekend.
The milestone marks the culmination of more than a decade of fundraising by the church community, alongside 10 years of design development led by Allan Joyce Architects and 18 months of construction work on site.
Designed to carefully connect the site’s listed buildings, the Link Centre creates a welcoming new entrance while also delivering fully accessible spaces for all users for the first time.
Flexible and affordable facilities within the building will support a wide range of uses, including community events, performing arts, music, cultural activities, and conferences for local and regional businesses.
A number of organisations contributed to the project, including Greenwood Projects, Ridge Engineering Consultants, CPW and Messenger BCR Group, alongside several specialist subcontractors.
Funding for the Link Centre was provided by the UK Government through the Ashbourne Reborn project, supporting wider regeneration and community investment in the town.
